Pagosa Weather would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the all the fire crews who responded and fought the Oak Fire this week in Aspen Springs: the Pagosa Fire District, the Archuleta County Sheriff’s office, the San Juan National Forest Fire crews, the South Fork Fire Rescue, Bayfield Fire Rescue, Aztec New Mexico Fire Rescue, all the tanker crews and all the other fire fighters! We are also thankful to everyone in the community who came together to support the first responder crews, and to support all the folks who were evacuated or were preparing to evacuate. And now, thankfully, the fire is 73% contained and those folks can return home.
Shawn and I always say, we love where we live. What we witnessed this week, was just one of the many reasons why.
I’ll have a full weather report late this afternoon.

God bless each & everyone of you. I have been enthralled by all of the firefighting videos & am amazed how these fire fighters run towards the fire – me, I’d be high tailing the opposite direction! Their bravery & skill never ceases to amaze me!
