Satellite Links

Satellite image
Satellite is one of our most valuable tools, especially in Pagosa Country.  We primarily use visible, infrared, and water vapor enhancements.  It’s amazing that high resolution images are available nearly every 5-10 minutes!

RAMMB – Regional and Mesoscale Meteorology Branch

Satellite data for 6 different satellites including GOES-E and GOES-W. Very customizable with lots of display options – can be clunky and doesn’t work well on phones

GOES-E for Southern Rockies

These images are focused on the Four Corners region and include Nevada, southern California, and northern Mexico – the most helpful enhancements are: GeoColor, Band 1, Band 2, Band 10, and Band 11

GOES-W full disk

This big-picture view includes most of the Pacific region and allows us to see what’s going on upstream.  Colorado is in the upper right of these images. – the most helpful enhancements are: GeoColor, Band 1, Band 2, Band 10, and Band 11

College of DuPage

Lots of display options but a bit clunky. Use the menu on the left to select the region and the products.  Use the arrows on the bottom right to control animation.
