The past…

At Stevens Field the high temp this afternoon was 66. The low this morning was 25. The peak wind at the airfield this afternoon was 25mph.

Precip summary… None in the last 24 hours

Forecast discussion…

A weak trough will move through tomorrow afternoon. Winds will tick up a notch and instability will increase enough to kick up scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm.

Friday the next trough will miss us to the north but kick up our winds a bit again.

Satellite this evening: Mid and upper level clouds continue to move into the Four Corners region from the southwest. There’s no precip with these clouds. The trough is moving onto the CA coast and will track towards the northeast into our area tomorrow.

I’ve been a “weather geek” since I was young child. I joined the military out of high school and was lucky to get my dream job in weather. I have 20 years of military weather experience which includes forecasting the weather all over the world. Highlights were six years in Alaska and making life and death weather decisions during deployments. I love mountains, I love snow, and I love summertime thunderstorms. I spend a bunch of time playing outdoors and found my paradise in Pagosa Springs. I do Pagosa Weather as a community service. Hopefully you find us helpful!
