” The world’s shortest St Patrick’s Day Parade will return to Pagosa Springs on Saturday, March 15 at 11:15am at St Patrick’s Episcopal Church. Bundle up – it will be chilly!

Featuring the emerald decorated float with green-clad Pagosa children, majorettes, bagpipers, Tin Lizzie mini cars and first responder vehicles, this annual march signals spring is on its way. Even leashed dogs and their owners are encouraged to participate in the parade.

Eighteen local vendors will be on-site in the St Patrick’s parking lot along with free hot dogs, plus Irish coffee and beer for sale.

Plenty of parking will be available at the adjacent hospital and Pope John Paul II Church lots. Attendees are welcome to contribute to St Patrick’s Food Bank with donations of canned fruit and vegetables.

With activities for the kids and adults alike, this festival promises to be a “shamrocking” good time!”

Pagosa Weather Booth

Your Pagosa Weather Team, Arleen and Shawn, along with board member Jane, will have a booth set up from 10:00 to 2:00pm. Stop by to discuss the last of the winter weather forecast, or to buy a hat, or to pick up a free sticker. Also, if you have considered being a CoCoRaHS observer, this is a great time to stop by and get more information.

Parade Weather Forecast

It will be partly cloudy with isolated snowshowers moving through from noon to 2:00pm. Don’t expect any accumulation. It is going to be chilly! Temperature will be in the low teens for folks setting up in the morning. So glad they are going to be selling Irish coffee! Temperature for start time of the parade at 11:15am will be near 20F. By the time everyone is tearing down at 2:00pm, the temperature will climb to mid-30s.

See you on Saturday!

I grew up in Montana where my love of the mountains is rooted. I served in the Air Force, forecasting aviation weather, for 24 years. I had eight assignments and my favorites were Colorado, Alaska, Korea, and Germany. I deployed several times, including to Iraq and Afghanistan. After RV traveling for nine years, Shawn and I found paradise in Pagosa. Here we enjoy playing outside in the spectacular San Juan mountains!

  1. This would be our first St Patrick’s Day parade here in Pagosa, and sounds fun!
Wondering if there’ll be regular coffee and/or tea available for those non-drinkers?
Hope to see you all there! Brrrrr
