Tommy, the Pagosa Weather mascot, was the very first dog that Shawn walked at the Pagosa Humane Society when they started volunteering there in 2021. He and Arleen immediately fell in love with the fun Husky mix. Amazingly, Tommy likes to return to the animal shelter when they walk other dogs. That says a lot about how the incredible folks who work there and take such incredible care of the animals.
15th Annual Penguin Plunge
Saturday, January 18, 2025 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Viewing can be done from the Riverwalk across from the Visitor Center, or the San Juan Overlook.
Viewing from the parking lot of the Visitor Center is restricted to plungers, support and emergency crews. Don’t miss the fun!
The plungers, including Pagosa Weather’s Arleen, will bravely jump into the icy cold waters of the San Juan River to raise money for the animals at the Humane Society of Pagosa Springs! Your contribution, large or small, will help provide life-saving care for stray and abandoned animals in Archuleta County.
