Moisture and clouds will decrease tonight and tomorrow.

Saturday and Sunday another trough with limited moisture will move through from the north. Just like today, scattered light snowshowers will be mostly over the mountains. Lucky spots in the mountains could get an inch of snow each day while Pagosa will be lucky to see a few snowflakes.

Friday highs will be in the low to high 30s and lows will be in the low single digits to low teens.  Saturday highs will be in the mid to high 30s and lows will be near zero to the low teens. Sunday highs will be in the mid-20s to low 30s and lows will be -5 to 10.

Winds… Thursday winds will taper off during the evening. Friday afternoon peaks will be around 10mph. Saturday and Sunday afternoon gusts will be around 15mph.

NBM snow to Sunday at 11pm shows 0.5” near Pagosa and 2-3” in our mountains.  I expect a little less.

Monday through Wednesday… A low will spin off the southern CA coast while a ridge persists over us. We’ll see lots of sun and a warming trend.

Temps… Monday highs will be in the mid-20s to low 30s and lows will be -5 to 10. Tuesday highs will be in the mid-30s to low 40s and lows will be in the mid-singles to mid-teens. Wednesday highs will be in the low to high 40s and lows will be near 10 to near 20.

Winds… Afternoon peaks will be 5-10mph.

The 8-15 day period… Next Thursday through next weekend could be unsettled as the low off the CA coast slowly moves west. The forecast models are all over the place, so my forecast confidence is low. Let’s hope it turns into a decent storm for us!

I’ve been a “weather geek” since I was young child. I joined the military out of high school and was lucky to get my dream job in weather. I have 20 years of military weather experience which includes forecasting the weather all over the world. Highlights were six years in Alaska and making life and death weather decisions during deployments. I love mountains, I love snow, and I love summertime thunderstorms. I spend a bunch of time playing outdoors and found my paradise in Pagosa Springs. I do Pagosa Weather as a community service. Hopefully you find us helpful!
