Friday night through Saturday night… A low-pressure system will move through the region. It won’t have much moisture so shower activity will be limited.

Mid and upper-level clouds will increase Friday night. A spotty light shower is possible over the mountains towards sunrise.

Shower activity will increase a bit by late morning. The best chance for showers and a thunderstorm or two is in the afternoon and into the evening.

NBM precip to late Saturday evening expects 0.06” near Pagosa and up to 0.15” in our mountains. This looks good to me but precip amounts will vary. This system will favor eastern CO and the Front Range.

This looks good to me but precip amounts will vary.

Sunday through Tuesday… The forecast models really diverge for next week.  Some models show a big high and dry weather while others show a cut-off low with a chance for spotty showers and thunderstorms.  For now I think we’ll be dry with seasonal temps.

I’ve been a “weather geek” since I was young child. I joined the military out of high school and was lucky to get my dream job in weather. I have 20 years of military weather experience which includes forecasting the weather all over the world. Highlights were six years in Alaska and making life and death weather decisions during deployments. I love mountains, I love snow, and I love summertime thunderstorms. I spend a bunch of time playing outdoors and found my paradise in Pagosa Springs. I do Pagosa Weather as a community service. Hopefully you find us helpful!
