Tommy had “toyectomy” laser surgery there a few years ago (he had swallowed a toy that was too big to pass- thankfully he is past that puppy stage). He was up and running around in the snow shortly thereafter. The laser seals nerve endings as well as lymphatic tissue; meaning less swelling, less pain, less blood loss during surgery, and shorter recovering times post surgery!

Dr. Thompson is the head veterinarian of Elk Park Animal Hospital. He grew up on a registered Holstein-Friesian dairy farm with nine siblings on the Canadian border of New York. He had a large and small animal practice in Vermont until selling that Northeastern practice in 2012 to relocate to Pagosa Springs.
Elk Park Animal Hospital is a truly integrative veterinary practice, utilizing traditional Western medicine and surgery as well as complementary diagnostic and treatment modalities appropriate on a case-by-case basis. Dr. Thompson has had the opportunity to lecture in China and has authored professional articles and textbook chapters related to both acupuncture and herbal medicine. In addition, Dr. Thompson regularly teaches at the famed Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Florida.
Also, Elk Park Animal Hospital’s boarding facility is there to take care of your cherished furry friends while you are away. Whether dogs or cats, they will make their boarding facility their home away from home.

Love this guy, he cared for our pets for many years seeing to their needs to the very end.
