Forecast highlights…

*** Lots of sun with breezy afternoons the rest of the week ***

Rest of Tuesday through Saturday… Upper-level flow will be flat – west to east. For us that means mostly sunny skies, no precip, and gusty afternoon winds.

Thursday we will see a few more clouds as a system skirts across northern Colorado.

Winds… Afternoon gusts will be 25-30mph each day.

Temps…

Wednesday highs will be in the mid-60s to low 70s and lows will be in the high 20s to high 30s.

Thursday highs will be in the high 50s to high 60s and lows will be in the mid-20s to mid-30s.

Friday highs will be in the low 60s to low 70s and lows will be in the high 20s to mid-30s.

Saturday highs will be in the mid-60s to low 70s and lows will be in the high 20s to high 30s.

Sunday and Monday… Some forecast models indicate a decent storm for us while other models expect it to stay to the north. Based on recent trends, I’m keeping my expectations low.  The easy part of the forecast is the gusty winds.

Winds… Afternoon gusts will be 25-35mph.

Temps… Highs will be 60-70 and lows will be in the high 20s to high 30s.

NBM precip to 11 May at noon shows no precip in Archuleta County.  This forecast model expects storms to stay to our north.  I agree with this for now.

I’ve been a “weather geek” since I was young child. I joined the military out of high school and was lucky to get my dream job in weather. I have 20 years of military weather experience which includes forecasting the weather all over the world. Highlights were six years in Alaska and making life and death weather decisions during deployments. I love mountains, I love snow, and I love summertime thunderstorms. I spend a bunch of time playing outdoors and found my paradise in Pagosa Springs. I do Pagosa Weather as a community service. Hopefully you find us helpful!
