Matt Huber from Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) will cover a range of topics that include back-country safety such as aspect, terrain impacts, how to get further avalanche training, what the training covers and a host of other topics.

I grew up in Montana where my love of the mountains is rooted. I was in the Air Force, forecasting aviation weather, for 24 years. I had eight assignments and my favorites were Colorado, Alaska, Korea, and Germany. I deployed a number of times including to Iraq and Afghanistan. After RV traveling for nine years, we found paradise in Pagosa. Here we enjoy playing outside in the spectacular San Juan mountains!

  1. Have you considered a “Snow Dance” competition? People could post videos of their very own Snow Dance and then all of us could vote on our favorite. Could be a lot of fun to watch.
