2021 was a year of growth at Pagosa Weather and we have so much to be thankful for!
We now have a beautiful web page. We are an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation for scientific and education purposes. We’ve presented our first community outreach talk.
Why do Pagosa Weather?
We were recently asked why we do Pagosa Weather? Mark, Shawn and I are retired. We do not receive a paid salary from Pagosa Weather. We love playing in the outdoors and have other personal interests to fill our time. Why do we take our personal time each day to voluntarily put together daily weather forecasts and other articles?
The three of us recognize that weather is part of our everyday decisions, especially in a community where outdoor recreation is so much a part of everyone’s lives.
The three of us recognize that there is a lack of detailed weather forecasts in Pagosa just like that radar hole that is over us.
The three of us have a natural curiosity and passion about weather. Shawn and I have a formal meteorology education through the military. Mark is a self-educated renaissance man that has spent decades studying how the atmosphere interacts. We know that we have the ability to fill the missing gap of detailed weather information for the community of Pagosa and Archuleta County.
Our payment is how the community embraces us! When I wanted a new web page that would be available to everyone, I had several folks volunteer to design it for us. When I asked for donations and sponsors to cover the costs of weather subscriptions, web page and other business expenses, the community of Pagosa responded and is supporting us 100%!
We feel the gratitude in the remarks our followers make on the web page and Facebook everyday. We feel the gratitude every time we go to town and meet someone. The subject of weather is always an icebreaker and allows us to introduce ourselves. It makes us feel so good when people respond back that they follow us, and they are so thankful for what we do. That is why we do it. It is a community service. It is a knowledge that we have, and we enjoy sharing.
Huge thanks to our web designers!
Brandon and Hannah did an incredible job. We know that they saved us thousands of dollars. Brandon continues to help us to this day.
Huge thanks to the Pagosa Weather Board!
Steve, Laura, Connie and Gabriel have helped me immensely with their guidance on decisions of how to administer and manage Pagosa Weather. Their advice is indispensable.
Huge thanks to our sponsors!
Each of these sponsors has formed an important partnership with us and have ensured that Pagosa Weather is a free service that we will be able to provide to everyone for years to come.

I’ve been following Pagosa Weather for many years now. Todd’s forecasts were always spot on! When Todd left and y’all took over, Pagosa Weather never missed a beat…the same accurate forecasts…the detailed explanations…the updates when the weather patterns change! Being a Texas transplant…my knowledge of Colorado weather was limited and I use your forecasts on a daily basis to make travel/play/potential life saving decisions! Pagosa Springs and all of its residents either full time, part time, and visitors are blessed to have such dedicated professionals keeping us informed!!
The list was of sponsors says it all!
Thank y’all for what you do for all of us!
Thanks so much Jeff! We are honored and humbled to earn everyone’s support.
