Forecast highlights…

*** Lots of sun, dry, and warm for the next two weeks. ***

*** Remember to “spring forward” tonight! ***

Forecast details…

Rest of Saturday through Monday… A ridge will build over our area while a cut-off low spins over the Baja Peninsula. We’ll have partly cloudy skies and will be dry.

Tuesday… We’ll see a few more clouds as a cut-off low moves through southern NM.  There might be a few scattered snowshowers along The Divide. A few lucky spots in the mountains could get an inch of snow.

Wednesday and through next weekend… The big evil ridge will build over the southwest US coast. The storm track will be well to our north. We’ll have lots of sun and temps will be 10-15 degrees above average.

Temps…

Saturday highs will be in the low to high 40 and lows will be in the mid teens to the low 20s.

Sunday highs will be near 50 to the high 50s and lows will be in the high teens to the mid 20s.

Monday through Thursday highs will be in the mid 50s to the low 60s and lows will be in the low to high 20s.

Friday and through next weekend highs will be near 60 to the high 60s and lows will be in the mid 20s to the low 30s.

Winds…

Each afternoon gusts will be 15-20mph in the Pagosa Springs area and 25-35mph in the high country.

NBM snow to late next Sunday evening (15 Mar) shows up to an inch of snow along The Divide in our mountains. This would fall on Tuesday, but my expectations are low.

14 Mar to 22 Mar… The ridge off the west coast will flatten some and allow a more west to east flow across the northern half of the country. The storm track will be too far north to have much impact on us. I think most of this period will be warm and dry.

Euro ensemble precip to 22 Mar shows 0.04” in the Pagosa area. The storm track will be to our north and we’ll be dry most of this period.

I’ve been a “weather geek” since I was young child. I joined the military out of high school and was lucky to get my dream job in weather. I have 20 years of military weather experience which includes forecasting the weather all over the world. Highlights were six years in Alaska and making life and death weather decisions during deployments. I love mountains, I love snow, and I love summertime thunderstorms. I spend a bunch of time playing outdoors and found my paradise in Pagosa Springs. I do Pagosa Weather as a community service. Hopefully you find us helpful!
