Quick Update!
I knew it was going to be a good day when the dew point was 47 degrees this morning. There has been a change in air mass! The monsoon showers are here!
Thunderstorms formed to the north about noon today. I was up in southern Hinsdale county mountains. I was keeping an eye on the sky. The clouds went from happy little cumulus to angry cumulonimbus in about an hour.
It is unusual pattern. Storms are moving from the northeast to the southwest. Storms are capable of producing lightning, small hail, gusty winds, drops in temperature and short periods of heavy rain over small areas.
It looks like the eastern and the western sides of the county were primarily impacted so far today. We had .22″ of rain 8 miles northwest of Pagosa in O’Neal Park. Our temperature dropped over 20 degrees. We are now 64 degrees!

We have a chance of seeing more showers move across the county in a few hours.
I’ll have a full weather update tomorrow.
