The contest… Forecast the amount of measured rain that the Pagosa Springs area will receive during the three months of monsoon season: July, August, September, to the nearest 100th of an inch.

As a starting point, you might want to attend our monsoon presentation on Thursday, May 23rd at 6:00pm at the library as part of the Lifelong Learning program.

Pagosa Weather is awaiting the official NOAA 2024 Hurricane season forecast before publishing our official 2024 Pagosa Springs Monsoon forecast. It is a key piece of evidence for the monsoon seasonal forecast. It should be out in the next few weeks. Hurricane season begins June 1st!

The Rules

– Each person can make one guess in the comments of the website or on the Facebook Post.

– The guess must be in whole inches, 1/10th of an inch, and 1/100s of an inch.  Example: 1.23”.

– Multiple same guesses will go to the first person with that guess!!! You can review guesses and change your answer right till the end of the contest, Friday, May 24th at 2359L.

– No more guesses after Friday, May 24th, 2024 at 11:59pm.

Verification

The Pagosa Weather Team will determine the amount of the total precipitation amount using an average from a number of CoCoRaHS observation sites in the Pagosa Springs area over the months of July, August, and September, 2024.

After RV traveling for nine years, we found paradise in Pagosa. Here we enjoy playing outside in the spectacular San Juan mountains!
