Cool and dry…

Fall

Since I was not posting on this page during the prime fall color time, I’ll be posting some of my favorite images from a couple of weeks ago this week. This one was taken on Plumtaw road on the 18th of October. © 2023-Mark Langford

Wednesday 11-1-2023. 8am update.

The past…

At Stevens Field the high yesterday was 51 degrees and the low this morning was 20 degrees. Winds gusted to 9mph yesterday and our humidity bottomed out at 20% yesterday afternoon. Many of us in the cold spots saw lows in the low teens the past couple of mornings!

Fire updates…

The Trail Springs fire, Mill Creek 2 fire, and Bear Creek fire have been less active due to cooler temps and more moisture.

A NW flow aloft will keep us mostly sunny and dry for the next few days.

Forecast discussion…

We are now under a NW flow…which means near zero chances for any precipitation over the next 7 days. Look for mostly clear skies and close to normal temperatures with lows in the 20’s and highs in the 50’s. We may have to wait until the middle of the month to see our next decent rain/snow event.

Zip zero, nada precipitation over the next 7-days!

5-Day Forecast…

Today-Monday: Mostly sunny with lows in the 20’s and highs in the 50’s. Winds SW 5-10, with gusts to 15mph. Cold spots could see lows in the teens.

I consider myself a "weather journalist" who has been studying and following meteorology since taking an earth science class in eighth grade. Later, when I became a professional commercial photographer, I learned that my continued studies in meteorology helped me plan outdoor photo assignments. I'm now a semi-retired photographer who teaches photo workshops, goes storm chasing and of course enjoys photographing great landscapes and clouds in our area. My fine art photography can be seen here: https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/1-mark-langford
