The Archuleta County Colorado State University Extension office presents an evening with Peter Goble, the Colorado Climate Center Climatologist, Water Availability Specialist and Colorado CoCoRaHS Coordinator and Arleen Prochazka, of the Pagosa Weather Team. The presentation will be Friday, April 28th, 2023 at 6:00pm at the CSU Extension Building, 344 Hwy 84, Pagosa Springs, CO, 81147.

Peter will discuss our Colorado Climatology, what weather is versus climate, climate change in Colorado, current conditions and drought update. Arleen will discuss the micro climate picture of Archuleta
County and Pagosa Springs including how the El Nino Southern Oscillation has impacted our area over the last 47 years. Plus, she will have a sneak peak at our monsoon outlook.

If you have considered being a Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, & Snow (CoCoRaHS) network observer and have had questions, this would be the perfect opportunity to ask those questions. Peter is the state CoCoRaHS Coordinator and Arleen and Shawn are the county CoCoRaHS Coordinators.

We look forward to seeing you next Friday evening!

I grew up in Montana where my love of mountains is rooted. I was in the Air Force for 24 years; Weather Observer to Weather Forecaster to Staff Weather Officer all to ensure flight safety. Mission was to brief aircrews on clouds, winds, turbulence, icing, thunderstorms. I served a total of 8 assignments and 4 deployments around the world. After RV traveling full time for 9 years, we found paradise in Pagosa. Here we enjoy hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, snowshoeing, skiing in spectacular mountains! Plus, we're trying to solve the San Juan weather puzzle! I am an AMS member.
