Pagosa Weather Meet & Greet: November 7th at Terry’s ACE!
Shawn and I enjoyed meeting many of you on November 7th at Terry’s Ace Hardware. We hope to do more Meet & Greets in the new year.
Huge thanks to Grace, Susan, Jennifer, Debbie, and rest of the team at Terry’s Ace Hardware for hosting our meet and greet and for being one of our Snowman Sponsors!

Winter Outlook Presentations
Arleen and Shawn had a great time at the San Outdoor Club’s November meeting. Arleen gave a presentation on Pagosa’s winter outlook. After explaining how different systems and oscillations impact our weather, Arleen’s conclusion is we will have average snow this winter. After a slow start in November and December, we’ll have a great wrap up with above average snow in February and March. You can read about all the details in her winter outlook: https://pagosaweather.org/2022/10/13/pagosa-springs-winter-outlook-22-23/
Huge thanks to Jeb, Steve, Sue, Diane, Joe and the rest of the folks at the Outdoor Club for the invitation. The question and answer sessions are always good and we enjoy the lively discussion.

- December 15th: Wolf Creek Ski Patrol, 7:00am. We’ll cover winter outlook, snow density, and other topics that impact ski patrol folks.
Send email to pagosaweather.org if your organization would like to hear our winter outlook presentation or other weather presentation.
Arleen and Shawn spoke with the First Graders at the Lutheran School about weather. We made weather in bottles, learned how balloons are similar to lightning, and went outside to look at the clouds through cloud frames! It was a good fun day with these little scientists!

- Pagosa Weather will visit the Valor Academy in January for more fun with little scientists.
CoCoRaHS
Pagosa Weather is the Archuleta County “CoCoRaHS Coordinator” and “Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador”.
Archuleta County is well represented but we still have big data gaps. We really need a volunteer in Arboles, Dulce, west on Highway 160, Pagosa Junction, and the upper Blanco. Sign up by filling out this web page: https://www.cocorahs.org/application.aspx. Or send us a note and we can send you more detailed information.

The red circles are areas we could use a CoCoRaHS observer. Let us know if you can give us 5 to 10 minutes every morning to measure precip and snow. CoCoRaHS provides all the training you need.

Huge thanks to Grace and her team for their support of Pagosa Weather. This contest is closed to new guesses.
