It’s Official! Pagosa Weather is a nonprofit!
I received a letter from the IRS yesterday. A letter from the IRS is not normally a good thing. But in this case it was a letter stating that they had determined that we are exempt from federal income tax under IRC section 501 (c)(3)!!! Donors can deduct contributions they make to us under IRC section 170. We’re also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devices, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522. They also determined we are a public charity as opposed to a private foundation.
We’ll start soliciting sponsors for 2022. If you are a business that is interested in sponsoring Pagosa Weather, please send me an email at pagosaweather@gmail.com.
We’ll also start getting more involved with the community with weather talks. We’ll be doing a presentation on winter weather on the 1st of September at the San Juan Outdoor Club monthly meeting. If you are with an organization that would be interested in Pagosa Weather coming to talk to them, please send me an email at pagosaweather@gmail.com.
Remember to pick up your Pagosa Weather Snow measuring device at San Juan Mercantile.

All donors can pick up their Pagosa Weather Snow measuring device at San Juan Mercantile. It is at 523 San Juan Street, next to the Barber Shop, across the street from Plaza Liquor. Thank you, Cindy, Cheri, and Tom for your help!
Again, thank you so much to everyone that has made a donation. Mark, Shawn and I have been truly touched by the support our followers have shown for us!
